Background

Singer/songwriter Susan Tomelty hails from a renowned theatrical and musical family in Portaferry, Co. Down. She has a passion for singing, writing melody and performing. Susan’s musical journey has taken her from her native Co. Down to Scotland, England, France, Sweden, Denmark, Nashville and Leitrim.

A pure and distinctive voice, she can cover a wide range of material but her influences are more rhythm and blues, soul, and gospel.

BBC Scotland – composition used by The Scottish Tourist board to promote Scotland in TV advert. 
UTV Kelly Show - performing 'live' 
RTE:- 'A stretch in the evening' - performing 'live' 
BBC TV Choice:- The Eleventh Hour programme, performing original material.

Projects
Performing and touring with Nashville’s Micheal Kelsh, songwriter, who has worked with Rodney Crowell. Susan toured Ireland with Michael  performing at The Open House Festival in Belfast and top music venues across Ireland. They were both joined by Stu Cole from North Carolina on double bass. Susan has been out to Nashville since and has collaborated with some of Nashville’s finest songwriters. She has pitched songs to major artists in the States.

Susan performed wonderfully at the charity gig in aid of Sligo Hospice. This gig was inspired by the wonderful loving care given to her partner Steve McGovern. Steve died from pancreatic cancer in early 2009 and was a gifted musician in his own right.

Susan Tomelty Band band covers songs from many of the greats such as Joni Mitchell, Linda Rondstadt, Bob Dylan, Elvis and James Brown. Admission is free and the show is at 10pm.
